Symphony good for the FanGirl's heart

So, I took my nephew orionrezil to the symphony tonight. OMG! Best one yet!!!! :D

The theme was Heroes, Villains, and Witches. I knew there was going to be a medley of Star Wars music, but when we got there and got the programs I found out they were also doing the Superman theme!!!! I squeed so much and when they played it... I had chills and even teared up a bit! *grins* I closed my eyes a few times and I could so easily see clips from the movie playing. :D And the Star Wars medley!!!! OH EM GEE!!!!! *dies* Nothing compares to hearing the Star Wars theme performed by a live orchestra! I could pick out Vader's and Leia's themes and the medal ceremony at the end of A New Hope. EEeeeee!!!!! CHILLS! And grinning from ear to ear! Simply incredible. Now I really REALLY wish I could see the Star Wars concert on tour.

They also did the William Tell Overture, The Sorcerer's Apprentice (which Ori didn't like one bit *evil grins*), The Ride of the Valkyries (I just kept seeing Bugs Bunny as a Viking woman lol), New York, New York, music from Rocky and a few others.

Now, I can't wait till February. They're doing romantic music from movies. :D

Tiny pics taking over my brain!

A few months ago, when the 5000 userpics were super cheap, I finally broke down and bought them. I just finally got around to actually uploading some pics to fill up all those lonely spaces.

I just uploaded 186 pics and now have 536! I still probably have around a hundred or more so to upload! Eeep!

Now, it's going to take me forever to choose a pic for comments/posting!

There's a bunch of memories that blur together for me, but I don't know how old I was in them. Probably the strongest memory is from when I was about 3, though I'm not sure which came first - either my first day of preschool and waiting for the bus or watching "Xanadu" at my grandmother's (mom's mom) house, laying on the floor with my brothers and sisters.

Every time I went to the movies with my nephew, orionrezil this summer, we always made comments about the posters for "The Proposal" and "The Ugly Truth". They hung on opposite sides of the wall in the theater. Ori has been promising me for a few months now that he was going to make me a special manip using the two posters.

HE FINALLY DID!!!!! :D OMG! My nephew is awesome! *giggles*

Poor Ryan looks scared out of his mind, but everyone else looks like they're having fun. hehe

I just can't say how much I love that my nephew made this for me! :D

Since my lovely, favorite big sister EVER tagged me for this (which I knew she would lol), I am posting my reasons ASAP.

As I'm usually one of the late people to do memes, most of the good reasons were already taken. So I thought ~~long and hard, sometimes deep into the night~~ on the whole drive home from work and hopefully came up with some not mentioned before.

1. Ethan is a hypocrite! He criticized Brian for his lifestyle, but as soon as he's caught cheating, he uses that as his excuse. The first chance he got, he lied to Justin.

2. He's less romantic than Brian. No matter how many flowers, rings, picnics, songs or "I love you"s he gave Justin, they meant nothing compared to his actions.

3. He's not strong enough to be himself (and let Justin be himself) and is too easily influenced by others. Even Brian, his competition, was able to sway him with "There's nothing noble about being poor".

4. It's been said before but... Ethan is NOT Brian!!!

I'll be honest, I never had any interest in GI Joe when I was growing up. Never had any action figures or watched the cartoon.

The only reason I wanted to see the movie was... Christopher Eccleston!

And OMG!!! He played a deliciously awesome bad guy! I was afraid he wouldn't have much screen time, but he was in it quite a bit. And the suit! GUH! He's not a typically handsome guy, but there's just something about him that the more things I see him in, the more attractive I find him.

For the movie itself... it was pretty decent. I liked it a lot and enjoyed watching it. The action was pretty cool and there was a surprise or two.

But between Christopher wearing a full suit, including waistcoat and Ianto Jones and his suits and waistcoats... I'm developing some interesting fetishes. *grins*

qafmaniac made me a gorgeous new header and gave me a gorgeous layout including some pretty pretty animations by the wonderful pfodge and kari77. And yummy Torchwood animations by cowboyhd over at livejournal. What more can I ask for but to stare ~~and drool~~ at 4 of my favorite men. ;) I may never be able to get any work done again. ;)

Star Trek

I finally got to see Star Trek tonight!!!

OMG!!! Totally worth the wait. I think this was probably the best newer Star Trek movie. I loved 4 & 6 of the originals, but the Next Gen movies just never kept my interest much. :P And Nemesis was the EVILEST movie of all!! :P But the new Star Trek... Oh, so very very awesome!!! And Zachary Quinto didn't scare me as much as I expected. lol Though, I've never heard "Live long and prosper" said quite so menacingly as he did a few times. lol

I really have absolutely no complaints about any of the actors picked either. Though, I just adored Chekov! hehe He was just too adorable! :D

If there was one downside to a remake from the beginning, it's the loss of the campiness and bad effects/costumes that make the original Star Trek so lovable. lol But I can definitely accept this new version. :)

When you wait almost 20 years to see someone in concert, it's almost surreal when it actually happens. The only downside was that I couldn't take any pictures during the concert. :( I took a few with my phone but have to fix them up before sharing.

And Queensryche did not let me down!!! OMG!!! The absolute BEST concert I've been too!!! Geoff Tate still looks AMAZING!!! He had on black dress pants, a black sleeveless shirt, and vest. His arms are still GUHHH!!! And I can't even tell you how happy I am that he has his long hair back! *grins* And to see him sing live and his facial expressions as he's singing, he really gets into the songs. It's so much better hearing the songs live than on any recorded media. To feel the bass and hear the audience sing along! Just amazing!

The whole concert was a little over 2 hours. They opened with songs from Rage For Order: Neue Regel, Screaming in Digital, I Dream in Infrared, Surgical Strike, and a few others.

Then they went into American Soldier: Sliver, The Killer, A Dead Man's Words, and a few others.

Finally... the ended with Empire... and Just... GUHHH!!!! The crowd really went wild when Best I Can started. It was really incredible. They sang almost the whole album! :D The Thin Line (I went crazy when he sang "Skin tight leather provides my pleasure" hehe), Jet City Woman, Silent Lucidity (I can't even express how incredible it is to hear this live and hear EVERYONE there singing along, it was magical), Hand on Heart, One and Only, Anybody Listening?

They came back out for an encore with Empire and Take Hold of the Flame (from Warning released in 1984 and it still sounded the same).

My favorite song all night was easily from American Soldier - Home Again. It's a duet with Geoff's daughter Emily (I think she's around 11). The band was all dressed in black, she came out in a hot pink dress. It is such a sweet song and it really brought tears to my eyes. During one of the instrumental breaks, Geoff spun Emily around the stage a few times. It was really so adorable!! Geoff also brought out his wife, Susan, to recognize her for Mother's Day. At the end, the band and Emily came out to take a bow. Before they went off-stage again, Emily jumped into Geoff's arms. To see something like that from a hard rock band... it really just makes me love them all the more. :D

I need to go to work tomorrow, but I'm too hyped right now to even try going to sleep! lol I just hope I don't need to talk much because I'm hoarse! *grins*

Ten years ago today, I started working at my job in what was supposed to just be a part time/temporary position. Ten years later, I'm still here. Been through some ups and downs. Had some extremely uninteresting days to some more exciting days (yes, even in an office). Went from just working for one company as a secretary/receptionist to working for 3 in many many capacities, including pretty much running a small dial-up company all by myself. Though it all, it's been pretty much fun. :) Besides, I can't complain when I have access to the internet all day and get to play on LJ/IJ quite a bit. lol

Anyone who knows me will probably guess who's number one. *grin* There's a 3 way tie for 3rd (listed in alphabetical order). lol I usually have a hard time coming up with more than 5 guys for these lists but thanks to some new 'obsessions' and including other famous people than actors, I got ten. hehe

10. Bradley James - the newest and youngest. lol But so very very pretty. Medieval clothing looks sooo good on him. I've developed a slight obsession with his teeth. *grins*

9. Pat Monahan - lead singer of Train. Seriously, I did just think he was sexy for his voice alone, but good looking too. Then, I searched for pics for this and WHOA!!! Never knew that was hiding under his clothes! GUHH!

8. John Barrowman - classic good looks and such an incredible voice. I know he doesn't wear glasses often, but I have a huge weakness for guys in glasses like this.

7. Christian Bale - I've really loved Christian since "Newsies", but since the Batman movies... So much sexiness! And that smile!

6. Gareth David-Lloyd - the more I watch Torchwood, the more I fall in love with Gareth and Ianto. This picture didn't hurt either. I'm a sucker for blue eyes. ;)

1. Harrison Ford - is this really a surprise to anyone? lol Seriously, been in absolutely LOVE with him since I was 6 and saw "Return of the Jedi" and he just gets better with age. ;) (And yes, I was slightly petty and cut Calista out of the picture hehe)

Moose - Three Years and Going Strong

It's that time of year again. My annual Moose-Spam! :D

Three years ago today, Moose stole my heart and took over my life, house and bed. lol And I wouldn't give it up for anything. :)

I was surprised that I hadn't taken very many pictures of him this year, just these. And they are all from my phone! I'll definitely have to change that for this year.
